Campesino Cross Peru c. 2002 Ceramic, 10 inch Peruvian artist Max Inga created this image of Christ as a farmer, crucified on a cross shaped as a shovel intersected by a machete. He is tied instead of nailed to the cross. Inga's success as an artist helped renew the tradition of pottery in north west Peru. < back | next >
